Newmarket's Urban Growth Centre includes Southlake Regional Health Centre, the Davis Drive Regional Corridor and the Yonge Street Regional Corridor. This five-kilometre stretch in York Region is forecasted to continue to grow into a vibrant urban community of 33,000 residents and include 32,000 jobs over the next few decades.
The Urban Growth Centre is already home to bus rapid transit, a thriving technology-based and creative economy, brand new purpose-built rental, advanced communications (including broadband and fibre optics), rail connection (Go Train), Regional government administrative centre and a leading Health Care Centre. In addition, the area already has over 1,350 residential units moving through the application process.

The Urban Centres Secondary Plan is the leading planning document that promotes growth in the area. A wide mix of uses are permitted within the six defined character areas of the Urban Growth Centre.

212 Davis Apartments
The 15-storey 212 Davis apartment building is located on Davis Drive and is the first purpose-built rental apartment complex in York Region in 30 years. There are approximately 225 units that contain a mix of one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den and two-bedroom units.
The DAVIS - a three tower condo and apartment community
The Davis Residences at Bakerfield is a three-phase, 4.4 acre master-planned community that consists of two 15-storey towers and one twn-storey building, a landscaped courtyard and a new 20,000 square foot urban park with playground. The first phase, a 15-storey 219 unit condo tower is expected to be completed by 2020.
In total, the Urban Centres Secondary Plan comprises approximately 290 ha (716 acres) of land, 130 ha (321 acres) of which are prime for re-development.
