Come get your car washed and help fight poverty in your neighbourhood. Stop by the Central York Fire Services (CYFS) Ian Laing headquarters (Station 4-5) at 300 Earl Stewart Drive, Aurora on Saturday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to get your car washed by local firefighters in exchange for a ‘pay what you can’ donation to United Way locally. After your car wash, there are educational opportunities. Car seat experts from St. John Ambulance will offer tips for how to install and adjust your car seat(s) as your child grows and you can also chat with boat safety experts from York Regional Police. Members of the Central York Professional Firefighters Association (CYPFFA) have volunteered their time to host this fundraising initiative to support United Way which is committed to fighting local poverty. *Donate what you can.
