The Town of Newmarket is an urban growth centre as designated by the Province of Ontario. The future of growth in Newmarket will occur along the main corridors with a focus on urbanization while protecting the existing neighbourhoods. Newmarket’s corridors on Davis Drive and Yonge Street are already home to many
technology, creative and professional service businesses. Many of the existing
knowledge based jobs in Newmarket’s urban corridors are already expanding and
hiring professionals looking for great careers in an amazing community.
By
2031, the Davis Drive and Yonge Street corridors will be home to 33 000 people
and 32 000 jobs, providing an engaged workforce and a complete, well designed
community to call home. Many of these
jobs along the corridor will be knowledge-based jobs, further adding to the
innovative atmosphere that already exists.
