The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement in effect until Monday, August 11. Weather forecasts indicate that up to 50 mm of rain is possible by Friday evening.
Forecasted rainfall amounts mixed with dry soils may result in excess runoff, resulting in increasing water levels and flows in rivers and streams, creating potentially hazardous conditions. The combination of wet, slippery and unstable banks could create hazardous conditions close to any river, stream or other water bodies. Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.
