​The Town of Newmarket is hosting viewing parties to cheer on Canada’s team, the Toronto Blue Jays! Join baseball fans for community viewing parties at “The Nest” (a.k.a. NewRoads Performing Arts Centre) for the World Series to cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays as they take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Residents and baseball fans are encouraged to wear blue and white during each game.

“From coast to coast to coast, the whole country is cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays and we’re proudly joining the celebration right here in Newmarket,” says Mayor John Taylor. “Put on your blue and white and join the community to mark this historic occasion as we watch the Jays become World Series Champions!”

Admission is free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site. NewRoads Performing Arts Centre will be licensed (outside alcohol is not permitted). Enjoy free popcorn, pizza while supplies last, or bring your own non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. Plus, we’ll be giving away prizes and Blue Jays swag! Arrive early; seating is limited.

When:

• Game 1 – Friday, October 24

• Game 3 – Monday, October 27

• Game 4 – Tuesday, October 28

Pending results from games 1 to 4

• Game 5 – Wednesday, October 29

• Game 7 – Saturday, November 1

Please note that viewing parties will not be held on Saturday, October 25 and Friday, October 31 due to previously scheduled events and Halloween.

Where:

• NewRoads Performing Arts Centre (505 Pickering Crescent). All games begin at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Parking is available at the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre and overflow parking is also available at the Magna Centre (800 Mulock Drive) across the street.
