The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement in effect until March 10. Warming temperatures are forecasted starting on Thursday, March 5, along with rainfall forecast for Friday and Saturday with predicted rainfall accumulations of 15-30 mm.
The forecasted rainfall may result in flooding of low-lying areas. All watercourses in our area will experience higher than normal water levels and flows due to rainfall and melting snow. As a result, local streams and rivers will become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.
