Don Harrison Energy Champion Award
The Ontario Recreation and Facilities Association was presented to the Town for its leadership in energy saving initiatives and commitment to energy management education.
Life Saving Society Affiliate Recognition Award
This award recognizes municipalities with the largest life saving programs for the size of their community. The Town of Newmarket was recognized for placing third at the Lifesaving Society's Burlington Cup.
Moraine Hero Award
This award was presented to Newmarket during the 2009 Moraine For Life Community Well-being Symposium resulting from a nomination made by the Newmarket Environmental Advisory Committee under the Municipal Leadership category for demonstrating leadership in the protecting and preserving of the Oak Ridges Moraine.
