About The Tour Guide:
Newmarket resident Richard MacLeod — the History Hound — has been a local historian for more than 50 years. He writes a weekly feature about our town's history in partnership with a number of publications including Newmarket Today, conducts heritage lectures and walking tours of local interest, presents vintage video nights at the Newmarket Library, does a monthly local history podcast for Pickering Radio, and leads local oral history interviews.
Richard can not remember a time when he was not fascinated by the study of history and particularly by the history of his town of birth, Newmarket! The archiving and sharing of our history with the community is one of Richard's passions!"
