In order to accommodate Newmarket's projected growth, the Town has prepared Urban Design Guidelines. These Guidelines will help ensure that new developments promote high-quality design and compatibility with surrounding areas.
The Town's Urban Design Guidelines provide comprehensive and strategic design direction to applicants. They will result in developments that achieve diverse building types, streetscapes, public spaces, and reflect site-specific locations such as the Historic Main Street area and the Urban Centres (much of Yonge Street and Davis Drive). The Urban Design Guidelines aim to encourage creative and successful urban design projects for years to come in our community.
